چکیده

We report our analyses of the multi-epoch (2015–2017) Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) archival data Class II binary system XZ Tau at Bands 3, 4, and 6. The millimeter dust-continuum images show compact, unresolved (r ≲ 15 au) circumstellar disks (CSDs) around individual stars, A B, with a projected separation ∼39 au. 12CO (2–1) emission associated those CSDs traces Keplerian rotations, whose rotational axes are misaligned each other (P.A. ∼ −5° for ∼130° B). similar systemic velocities two (VLSR 6.0 km s−1) suggest that orbital plane stars is close to sky. From ALMA data, we have also identified relative motion binary. Along previous NIR found elliptical orbit (e = , ) preferable circular orbit. Our results all other, possible mechanisms produce such configuration discussed. demonstrate feasibility time-domain science ALMA.

On the alignment between the circumstellar disks and orbital planes of Herbig Ae/Be binary systems

Context. The majority of the intermediate mass, pre-main-sequence Herbig Ae/Be stars reside in binary systems. As these systems are young, their properties may contain an imprint of the star formation process at intermediate masses (2-15 M⊙). However, these systems are generally spatially unresolved, making it difficult to probe their circumstellar environment to search for manifestations of th...

Circumstellar Disks Around Binary Stars In Taurus

We have conducted a survey of 17 wide (> 100 AU) young binary systems in Taurus with the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) at two wavelengths. The observations were designed to measure the masses of circumstellar disks in these systems as an aid to understanding the role of multiplicity in star and planet formation. The ALMA observations had sufficient resolution to localize emission within...

Scattered Light Models of Protostellar Envelopes: Multiple Outflow Cavities and Misaligned Circumstellar Disks

Ground based imaging, imaging polarimetry, and recentHubble Space Telescope WFPC2 and NICMOS images of protostars have revealed very complex scattered light patterns that cannot be entirely explained by 2-D radiation transfer models. We present here for the first time radiation transfer models of T Tau and IRAS 04016+2610 that are fully 3-D, with the aim of investigating the effects on image mo...

Circumstellar disks of the most vigorously accreting young stars.

Stars may not accumulate their mass steadily, as was previously thought, but in a series of violent events manifesting themselves as sharp stellar brightening. These events can be caused by fragmentation due to gravitational instabilities in massive gaseous disks surrounding young stars, followed by migration of dense gaseous clumps onto the star. Our high-resolution near-infrared imaging has v...

Young Circumstellar Disks near Evolved Massive Stars and Supernovae

There is increasing evidence that low mass stars with circumstellar disks can be born close to massive stars, in some cases within tenths of a pc. If the disks have lifetimes greater than those of the more massive stars, they are exposed to the radiation fields and gas flows from the late evolutionary phases and supernovae of the massive stars. The fast flows from supernovae are likely to give ...
